Physics by Aristotle (circa 330 B.C.)
Aristotle’s Physics is the first known classic of physics. It is a collection of treatises that deal with the most general principles of natural or moving things, both living and non-living. The chief purpose of the work is to discover the principles and causes of change, or movement ( motion).
In Physics Aristotle presented a systematic way of studying the natural world. The book laid the foundations of modern scientific method and it held its sway for two millennia. Aristotle placed Earth firmly at the center of the cosmos, and viewed the universe as a neat set of nested spheres. He also mistakenly concluded that things move differently on Earth and in the heavens.
